Congratulations to Class of 2011

Thursday 18th August 2011 – just another Thursday for many of us, but for the 2011 leavers significant, as it was the day they received their A level results.  With a 100% pass rate and 86% of students achieving at least one A grade, this is in many respects the best set of A level results in the School’s long history.  Nearly 22% of all grades were at A* level, an increase of almost 3% on 2010, 62% were at A* or A grade (54% in 2010), and over 87% were at either A*, A or B grade (80% in 2010).  52 boys got 3 grade As or better, of which 21 boys got at least 2 A*s, 12 boys got at least 3 A*s and 2 boys got 4 A*s.

Kyle Lam got a staggering 7 A*/As in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Latin, German and General Studies, and goes on to read Medicine at Churchill College, Cambridge.  Last year’s School Captain, Oliver Exton, got 4 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Geography, and an A in General Studies and goes on to read Economics at Jesus College, Cambridge, and Thomas Atherton, who also goes on to Jesus College, Cambridge, this time to read Medicine, got 4 A*s, in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths.  A further 9 students got at least 3A*s: Brandon Alam, Omar Ali, Matthew Brown, William Clark, Jahfer Hasoon, Chris McDonnell, Alex Monk, Sachin Vindla and Bill Wong.
It was a double day of celebration for Kurran Sachdeva, who, as well as getting the grades to get into his first choice university to read Economics, was celebrating his 18th birthday – along with his two triplet sisters, Piya and Anushka, who attend neighbouring Nottingham Girls’ High School. Between them, the triplets amassed a total of 4 A*s and 4 As!

Congratulations to everyone!
