As with last year, the evening will be split into two parts. The first part of the event will consist of a drinks reception, followed by the AGM, and this section will be free of charge to all Society members. After the formal business of the AGM has closed, those members
who wish to stay for the Supper may do so. The charge for the Supper will be £10 per head, and a cash bar will be available.

The programme for the evening will be as follows:

Open to Society Members, free of charge

6.00pm – 6.45pm             Arrival and drinks

6.45pm – 7.30pm             Annual General Meeting

Open to Society Members at a charge of £10 per head

7.30pm9.30pm             Supper and cash bar

There are two specific items for discussion this year.

The first will be a debate and vote on the matter of proposed changes to the Constitution regarding proxy voting. A further letter regarding this topic in particular is enclosed. If you wish to vote on this matter you must attend the AGM in person.

The second will be a debate only on the enclosed “Review of future operations and Committee structure” consultation document. This is the latest stage of work that has been carried on by the Officers and the Committee over time, and is being put to Members for further comment and consultation. The debate will be an opportunity to put on record Members’ views and to encourage discussion on the future of the Society.

Any Members can contribute to the discussion on this by emailing or writing to Daniel Shaw. It is envisaged that this revised document and its concepts will be revised further over the coming months to enable it to be put to Members for a vote.

I look forward to see as many of you as possible on 10th November.
